CABIN CREW/FLIGHT ATTENDANT FAQs

As a cabin crew/flight attendant hopeful, I used to blog about application experiences, but because of my busy schedule, I rarely do it now; but I am very open on entertaining questions asked. I decided to compile the questions sent to me via e-mail (since Jan 2011). I based the answers from my previous experiences of from the experiences of successful cabin crews I know.

2. Is it possible that they will accept you if you have a scar on your leg?

If it’s not a big scar and if you can conceal/hide it, no worries. If you really want the scar to disappear, you may consult a dermatologist and ask for an opinion whether to undergo a treatment or apply something on it.

3. I just applied for Cebu Pacific last month but i did not pass. I saw their new add at a newspaper that they are hiring (but this one is GRAND hiring) at a hotel. Do u think I could re-apply again if i just applied last month?

From what I know, Cebu Pacific has a 6-months waiting period from the date of an unsuccessful application. Grand Hiring is still the same as their usual screening (done at their office), only that it’s a one day hiring, unlike from the screening done at their office wherein you need to come back if you’re shortlisted.

4. I'm willing to apply to Saudi Airlines but the problem is I'm only 20 yrs old.

For Saudi Arabian Airlines, minimum age is 21 years old ,but if you’re turning 21 in months time you may want to ask the agency handling the application; but most likely, if you’re turning 21 in, say, 3 months time, you can apply.

5. I always wanted to work for JAL Airlines, Asiana and Emirates Airlines but the problem is there is no available position for flight attendant. Any advice for this?

Wait for their opening; or you can either apply for other airlines and gain flying experience or work for a customer service job.

6. I haven't tried applying for any airline yet, so I'm quite nervous! Any tips?

Try composing yourself, saying you’re not nervous even if you are (mind over matter) and prepare all the things you need. When you see an advertisement for the job, read the list of requirements carefully. Bring all the things needed and wear the appropriate attire. During an application, wear proper attire: in corporate blazer, over blouse and knee length skirt for women; slacks, corporate coat over long sleeves (preferably with tie) for men (unless specified that you should come in casual attire).

7. What other international airlines that have Open Days/Hiring here in the Philippines? I actually want to apply for Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines. But I don't know if that's relatively possible. Any ideas?

Qatar Airways frequently conduct an Open Day in the Philippines (usually open for both male and female).
For Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines, they do not hold an open day as of the moment.

8. PAL: Talaga bang strict sila sa scars ? or mas strict sila sa ngipin?...if ever my scars ,pwedi bang mag lagay ng covering make up for scars ? o mahahalata din nila iyon ?

Having attended an Impact Interview, they scrutinize the face, legs, arms, and teeth. Only PAL can determine whether they are more strict on scars rather than on an applicant’s teeth. Lastly, try concealing the scars.

9. I’m a flight attendant hopeful, just the same from the other who comments and reads your blogs about flight attendants. Do you have any advice in trying to achieve this dream? where to apply etc etc.

I always say that if you really want something, then, nothing should stop you from reaching it. Just try and try. One failure can never measure your worth and capability as a person. Sometimes, reaching for something comes along with the right timing. Try assessing yourself after a failed application and improve yourself. Regarding the question where to apply, you can visit workabroad.ph; read newspapers and visit the websites of different airline companies.

10. There's an OD for Qatar Airways coming up this August and I'm planning to attend. But I still have braces on; you think I should still give it a shot? If yes, what things/docs should I prepare? Clothing opinions? (I'm a guy).

I guess, Qatar Airways is strict when it comes to braces, as per the advertisements say that applicants with braces will not be entertained. But if you really wanted to try for the sake of trying and gaining experience, you may do so. You may just prepare your cv and photos (passport size and whole body picture).

Attire for men: slacks, corporate coat over long sleeves (preferably with tie)

11. Won't I need to have 2X2 and passport size photos (for Qatar Airways)?

2x2 photo for your resume/cv is optional. I don’t put my photo on my cv as it may just be returned to me. I only prepare one passport size photo and one whole body photo, size is 4r during an Open Day for Qatar Airways.

12. Hi Joanna! Can I ask you another question please?
Is there a specific kind of CV for Qatar or can i just buy the standard ones on the bookstore? Hope Im not a bother. Thanks!

Create your own CV, just like when you’re applying for other jobs, only that the objective (if you have that part on your resume) may be different. Personally, I put the ff details (in order):

NAME
Address
Contact No(s)
Email Address

hello dear, just want to ask..is Airphil express is strict when it comes to braces?..i already sent my resume last monday through jobstreet bcoz they'r hiring cebu applicants.good that i am a cebuana. ..but i am worried they might not entertain me because off my braces..;(..do you have any suggestions or advice?.;)

joannecams on 9:01 AM said...

Hi! From what I know, in Manila, they don't entertain applicants with braces and retainers, maybe it's the same with Cebu. While waiting for the interview, you may want to ask your dentist if you can have your braces removed.

Anonymous said...

oohhw..really?..that is also my plan, bcoz my teeth is fine already..;)..but i have a friend she has a braces also, but they still gve a chance to her and entertained her..and they asked if she is willing to removed her braces asap..and thats it!.she said yes..blah.blah...she is now a successful FA..;).baka depende cguro sa interviewer..sana nga!hehe.anyways, thank u so much..;)).

joannecams on 9:05 AM said...

Hi, I guess so, depends on the interviewer because I have a friend who was wearing retainers when she applied, she was not interviewed but was told to just come back when the retainers were removed.

joannecams on 5:02 PM said...

Hello, if you missed out their hiring this month, you can wait until they have a new set of screening dates this November. Re the age, I'm not sure about that because I don't know anyone who applied beyond 25. You may still want to try though.

hi dear! im Kimsha Sari T Chua from Cotabato City. 21 years og age. 5 ft and 6 inches tall.. graduate from Notre Dame RVM college of cotabato. hehe! interesado po ako mg apply as flight attendant. hehe. panu po ba mg apply? :)

Joanne Camet on 10:40 AM said...

Hi Kimsha, watch out for flight attendant openings posted on websites, instructions are usually posted naman. Kapag flight attendant application, nagrerequire sya na personal application, dadalhin mo resume lang, usually it's just your resume + you in corporate attire, in full make up. Depende rin if may ibang requirement na ipinapadala. If you have an airline in mind na gusto mong apply-an, you can email me, baka masagot ko :)

Hi! May I know the standard weight/height chart for male FA applicant? Same with you, it's my biggest dream to be a cabin crew. Also, is it necessary to remove my mole from my nose? or freckles sa face ko? During OD, would they check your teeth, arms, and legs physically? hope you can help me.

Joanne Camet on 8:23 AM said...

Hi Owel, you can check the internet for the height/weight chart for male, sorry but I don't have any files for that. From what I've observed, during the OD, ang pag scrutinize lang talaga nila is by just looking at you, but that way will really mean a lot if you'll receive a call or not. Arms and legs are not checked. You may want to use concealer though for the freckles. Regarding the mole, wag muna, if you reached the fi and they advised you to do so, that's the time siguro na gawin mo, but as of the moment, wag muna :)

JOANNE: Hello! Saang airline company in particular? Usually naman when you walk in, physical screening plus initial interview. Physical screening - skin, legs, arms, teeth will all be checked as in your grooming, the way you carry yourself and etc. basta all physical aspect. When in comes to the interview naman, I suggest you speak in English, hindi naman kailangan mga malalalim na English kahit basic English okay na basta wag ka lang kakabahan :) If you still have questions, let me know. Please feel free to e-mail me.

Joanne Camet on 3:01 PM said...

Hi Kaye, I will suggest that you still try. You'll never know unless you try right? You can use a good concealer :)

hi nice blog! would you know how long does airphil express call for final interview? I passed the impact interview last may8,I was given a small slip of paper saying I will receive a call/txt for schedule of final interview. Im just kind of worried they might have forgotten me,but does it usually take long for them to call/txt? waiting game is killing me hehe thanks!

Joanne Camet on 3:23 PM said...

Hi! Thanks!
Regarding Airphil, I don't have any idea how long you have to wait for the next round of interview. Maybe, Airphil is just gathering more qualified applicants before they conduct the next interview. Surely, you are not forgotten, don't worry. Just make use of the time to prepare for the next round of interview :)

Anonymous said...

Hi. I just want to ask if airphil express and emirates is strict when it comes to complexion and weight? I tried to apply today in cebu pacific but unluckily, i didn't make it. they told those who didn't pass to know what to improve on. can you give me advice? thanks!

Joanne Camet on 9:16 AM said...

Hi! Weight should always be proportion to your height. When it comes to complexion, just as long as you cover imperfections like if ever you have a zit, do conceal it :)

Golda Meir said...

Hello amazing blog!
I spent weeks to find a blog like this. T_T
Last April 10, 2012, I passed the impact interview with Airphil Express which was held at their ticket office, Mactan International Airport.
I was given a small piece of paper stating that I will receive a call/text for the schedule of my final interview.
Desperate to hear from them, I tried to send them an email just this afternoon to find out if I'm still good for the final interview.
And so then I received a text message a few moments later informing me that they will just call me when they will be able to gather enough applicants.
The waiting is killing me but I'm glad I tried to contact them.
At least, I am now relieved knowing that I still have a shot for the final interview.
I'm just wondering though what will be up for the final interview.
Do you have any idea?
Will there be an exam or anything?
I hope I can make it.
God guide us all FA hopefuls!
Let's reach for the stars and have faith!
God bless everyone! ;)

Joanne Camet on 10:15 AM said...

Hi Golda! Thank you! Don't worry, so long as they tell you to wait, I guess they Airphil will not just put hopes on you if they don't have any plans of including you on their final interview :) Regarding their final interview, I don't have any idea but maybe it will be a panel interview just like other airlines.

I want to apply sana coz Im jobless and i want to be useful naman khit papano. Hope you could help. I want to work din kasi sa airlines. Thanks so much! :)

Joanne Camet on 7:40 PM said...

Hi Alyssa, Sorry for the late reply. Regarding the leg hairs, you may want to try waxing for that para walang leg hairs, although kailangan ma-maintain mo na laging nagpapa-wax kasi pangit na kapag tumubo.

Joanne Camet on 7:43 PM said...

Hi Areesa! Watch out mo lang yung post ng Cebu Pacific sa Jobstreet, lagi silang may advertisement doon. For the cabin crew post usually naman every month hiring sila. I'm not sure though kung kailan yung exact date ng next hiring but surely it will be really soon.

Joanne Camet on 2:34 PM said...

Hi! You may still want to try. I believe na yung natural color naman ng teeth ay yellowish. Yung mga super white naman usually nag go through na ng procedure of teeth whitening.
Usually personal questions, about yourself.
If being a flight attendant is really what you want, try mo lang :)

Joanne Camet on 2:36 PM said...

@Anonymous: Hello. Personal questions are asked like "tell me something about yourself and why do you want to become a flight attendant/cabin crew".

Joanne Camet on 2:38 PM said...

@Jana: Hi! Sorry it took me a while before I checked your comment, how was it? Sa usual impact interview kasi you're asked to speak for 2 minutes about anything.

Joanne Camet on 2:44 PM said...

@Anonymous: Hello! Re tattoo..I guess you have to declare that during the Assessment Day (day 2) because they might know about it when you proceed to the medical exam.

Anonymous said...

Do Philippine Airlines accept FA that has a tattoo on the feet? Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Hi! Pero bawal ba talaga yan sa na meron kang tattoo?

Joanne Camet on 11:26 AM said...

@Anonymous: Hi! maybe as long as the tattoo is not visible.

@Anonymous: Hi!I'm not sure whether they accept crews with dentures. Re Chicken skin? Saang part?

@Harley: high! I don't think so as long as it's not really big enough. Some even accept those with scars so why not those with moles?

@Anonymous: hi! medical exams depende sa standard na kailangan sundin.

@Anonymous: HI! That I'm not sure. I really don't know. The only way to find out is to try for it. Surely they would know sa medicals.

HI, im a male, 24 yrs old, with 3 yrs experience in hospitality industry(2 yrs in 6 star hotel and 1 yr in passenger cruise ship). i am very confident that i am qualified for this position(although my face is not flawless but i know i can improve it). But my big problem is, i have lots of scar on my legs, i am just wondering if the employer will consider this knowing that male FAs are wearing long sleeve and pants and my scars are not noticeable with these uniforms...Quick reponse is much appreciated..Thanks..

Hi Ms. Joanne. First of all I would like to thank you for making this topic on your blog because it answered a lot of my questions. :) Tanong ko lang po, I have a 300 na grado sa mata but I wear contact lenses to correct my vision. Do you think qualified pa din ako maging cabin crew? I can wear clear contact lenses para di halata if they want. Are they strict about this? Thanks! I'm Alex, girl, 18 years old from Las Piñas. :)

Hi! I have this huge scar on my right foot, but i think wearing stockings might help concealing it. By any chance, do you know if Qatar Airways is strict when it comes to scars? Thank you.

Joanne Camet on 5:33 PM said...

Hi All!

I'll be answering each of your queries. Sorry for the late reply.

1.hi. ano usually nangyyri sa impact interview?

= Hi! Is this for PAL? I can speak based from my experience before. There will be more than 10 of you in a room. There are 2 interviewers. They will give (each of you) 2 minutes to say anything you would like to say. After that, you will be asked to come closer to them, they will check your arms, legs, face, teeth, etc.

2. Cebu Pacific

= Hi Rose, if you would like to try, then so be it. If you're ready emotionally and physically, it wouldn't hurt to try, at least it's a learning experience that you might use for other opportunities in case the result turned out the other way around.

3. Scar on Right foot
= Hi! Conceal it! You will be wearing stockings if you become one of their cabin crews :)

hi jo. i just want to ask if you know any international airline that's not very strict when it comes to physical appearance specifically about teeth? i don't have a good set of teeth but i really want to become a flight attendant. do i have any chance?

Hello! My name is Marsha and i got an email from the recruitment team of Cebu Pacific saying that I've been successfully referred by one of their employees. Does this mean that I'll have a higher chance of being qualified? And I also want to ask if you really should have a passport when going to an initial interview. I don't have a passport yet, but I'm planning to get one though...i'm wondering if this would be a flaw. Hope you could answer my questions. Thank you in advance! :)

Joanne Camet on 9:38 AM said...

Hi Marsha, that would be a good chance but still, do your best during the interview. Don't worry about your passport, if you're successful, or if ever they ask you about the passport just let Cebu Pacific know that you don't have a passport yet but you're currently working on it :)

Anonymous said...

Hi! Great blog you got here! I'm Sam by the way. I myself wanted to be a FA too. But I'm not that skinny or slender like what the usual FAs look like. Does airlines entertain those who have medium body frames?

Anonymous said...

hi po! call me meg. ask ko lang po what exactly happens during the screening? ang alam ko lang kasi for sure imemeasure nila ung height and weight mo. imemeasure din ba nila ung length ng arms? from what i saw kasi sa posting ng Airphil, arms should at least be 200cms. also, im worried if am i going to be entertain coz i got a teeth pasta in the front. di naman sya halata pag malayuan. pag malapitan lang. should i just go or no? i need some enlightenment. :) hope you could help me here. thank you and God Bless! :)

Joanne Camet on 9:53 AM said...

@Sam: You don't need to be skinny as long as your height and weight are proportioned, you're good to go :)

Joanne Camet on 9:55 AM said...

@Meg: Hi! Probably there will be an arm reach test pero not literally susukatin yung length ng arm mo. Try mo lang, daanin mo na lang sa smile :)

Anonymous said...

Hi joanne do u happen to know if do u have to be a 4-year course graduate for PAL..? Thnks---jm:))

Anonymous said...

talaga bang chinecheck din ang underarm? singit? and stuffs

Joanne Camet on 10:43 AM said...

Hi JM! Basing from what I know, they ask that during the phone interview and I'm not sure weather it has a bearing or none.

Joanne Camet on 10:44 AM said...

@Anonymous: They don't do that. They only check the arms, legs and face.

Marsha Danao on 2:25 PM said...

Hi! tanong ko lang po ulit, do you need to have a customer service experience when applying for FA position? my screening kasi sa cebu pacific next week and i want to try but i don't have any work experience. I just graduated last year. plus, ok lang ba for an IT grad to apply as FA?

Joanne Camet on 10:44 AM said...

Hi Marsha!

Customer Service experience is just an advantage but not a requirement. It's okay to apply even you're a fresh grad :) Wala naman pong pinipiling course ang pagiging isang cabin crew dahil lahat naman ng kailangan mong matutunan ay ituturo sa training.

Goodluck!

Anonymous said...

Hi joanne!

I am currently working in Bahrain as sales manager. I wanted to be a cabin crew so bad but I can't swim and I am too busy to get a swimming lesson. ):

Joanne Camet on 3:10 PM said...

Hello, I've heard some ME carriers won't really require that you know how to swim unaided. There's a life jacket during ditching :)

Jewel Garcia said...

What do you consider is the most important when working with customers? Help me please :) thanks!

Joanne Camet on 10:25 AM said...

Hi Jewel, it depends on your job. If working with customers as a cabin crew, the most important thing is their safety.

If it's another customer service job, for me, it's the customer's satisfaction.

Margery Bicodo on 5:21 PM said...

Hi Joanne! thank you for writing this blog! it really helps aspiring FA's a lot. I just want to ask, should I wear stocking on the impact interview? thank you! :)

Joanne Camet on 10:14 AM said...

Hi Margery, if it is for Philippine Airlines they will advise you if you need to wear stockings during the Impact Interview.

Hi Anonymous,

I'm not sure with PAL. I haven't heard stories of single moms trying for PAL.

Joanne Camet on 11:56 AM said...

Hi Kwon bo mi,

Thank you for reading my blog!

Please see comments below :)

Scar - mas okay kung wala, lalo if it's visible. Kung may mailalagay kang creams or anything na pwedeng magpa-heal sa scars, the better.

Skin Color - doesn't matter

Foreign Language(s) - advantage

Course - it doesn't matter kung anong course yung kunin mo. In fact, flight attendants come from different backgrounds/finished different degrees

Salary - that I don't know how much but it's bigger I guess because aside from the basic salary, you will also be paid based on the number of hours you've flown. Re ipon, depende na sayo. Kahit anong work mo, kung gusto mo makapag ipon, posible naman.

Age Req - based yan during the time of application, that's the max age that they can accept on the time of application

Height - well, as long as you meet the height requirement. Kung matangkad ka it will be an advantage but never an assurance

jessie on 2:15 AM said...

Jessie: Hi miss joanne, unfortunately 5'2 lang po height ko and na-ininvite po ako ng cebu pacific for physical screening this monday, is it possible na entertain pa nila ko? This article is interesting and very helpful... never thought na strict ang airline companies about scars... now i know kung bakit nila require mag skirt ang girls during interviews.

Margery Bicodo on 10:48 AM said...

Hello po!! i just want to ask something. I already passed the impact interview and initial screening of PAL. i'm now endorsed to have the initial medical. what will i expect po? i mean what procedures are to be done? Ano po yung mga ichcheck nila? Thank you!! :)

Joanne Camet on 3:32 PM said...

@Wendy: that will depend on the standard that the airline company is following and I can't speak if they do accept applicants with false teeth.

@Anonymous: there's no harm in trying. It depends if the recruiter will thoroughly check on the teeth aside from asking you to give them a big smile. If they like you and they want you to fix the problem, maybe they will just advise you to work on that :)

@Al: Thanks! Some airlines are not that strict with scars especially if they are not visible when you're in uniform.

@Margery: that I don't know. Just wait for the list of tests that you have to undergo :)

Kay said...

Hi, Aside from measuring your height do they actually weigh you during screening? or when they require weight proportionate to height, they just base it from the way you look, like if you look normal, overweight, obese? Thanks.

Joanne Camet on 11:15 AM said...

Hi Kay! Depends on the airline company. Some will check your height and your weight first before the interview. Some will just check if you meet the height requirement.

Most of the time, the BMI check will come when you're already processing your medicals.

Anonymous said...

Hello joanne. I am a 22 y.o male from bataan. Im 5'10 in height and my weight is proportional to it. Since i workout and stuffs. I do have a pretty good complexion and can write and communicate in english fairly well. Though i have some slight issues with my teeth. I have this "pangil" that is slightly protruding. Exactly the same with sharon cuneta. If you have noticed it. My question is, will this greatly affect my chances of being heird? And do they require to the applicant to smile with the full set on teeth on view? Thanks.

Joanne Camet on 9:32 AM said...

Hi! During the screening, they will ask you to give your full smile.

In regards to "pangil", I can't speak in behalf of the recruiter whether or not they will accept it.

In my observation, everything will depend on what kind of impression you will give the recruiter. It's not about having just a perfect skin or good looks, everything will still depend on how they assess you as a whole. If the recruiter sees something in you and likes you, any imperfection (if you believe there is) wouldn't matter.

Don't be afraid to try :)

Joanne Camet on 6:40 PM said...

Hi Nicole, I have no idea regarding that. You may want to try calling PAL to ask for any updates :)

Hi Anonymous, if it is not visible then I don't think it will be an issue during the screening.

Hi Anonymous, you may want to try applying for a position closer to what you want like being a ground crew and take it from there. Do not think you don't have a space in the Philippines, everyone has. It's just that sometimes, the timing isn't right. Don't give up! :)

Hi, Joanna! Being an FA is my dream job but I have a scar on my left elbow. I got it when I was in preparatory school.. actually it's quite a small keloid. Do you think I still got a chance to apply for PAL?

Joanne Camet on 3:34 PM said...

Hi Anonymous, yes, everyone has a chance to become a cabin crew. If being a cabin crew is the profession that you want, you will prepare yourself in all aspects and you will try to improve yourself if you feel that there is lacking in you or there is something you need to improve :)

Hi Anonymous, regarding PAL, I'm not sure if they will entertain walk in applicants, best if you will call them. Re Saudi Arabian Airlines, their recruitment campaign in the Philippines is facilitated by IPAMS (their accredited agency here). Once IPAMS accepts applicants for Saudia, it's best to go to their office located at Aurora Boulevard to submit your requirements and proceed with the initial screening :)

Hi Anonymous, re exams , it depends on the airline company.

Hi Anonymous, just keep on trying to pursue what you want. You're maybe a public area attendant now but it doesn't mean that will forever be your job. Just continue taking chances and be patient.

Hi Anonymous, thank you for that! Re your concern, I am not sure what PAL follows. If you checked that your BMI is normal, maybe there's nothing to worry about :) Just try and don't let the chance passed you by. Who knows, it might be the right time and PAL might be the right company for you :)

Hi Janica, try to conceal it and be confident during the impact interview. Everyone has a chance to get in. Just be yourself, relax and show them your best smile :)

Hello all, sorry for the late response. Keep in mind that there is always a chance to be hired no matter how many imperfections you think you have. You don't need to be perfect. Present yourself in the best way you can. Be positive. Don't be nervous. Relax. Never forget to smile. Best of luck to all :)

Amazing blog! This is for no airlines in particular. I wear contact lenses 550 on both eyes, I was wondering how strict the airlines are, that you know of, regarding contact lenses and with such a high grade. Also do you know how airlines feel about smokers. More power!

Joanne Camet on 3:05 PM said...

Hi Anonymous: That I am not sure. It depends on their standard and that will be their HR's discretion. If you feel like you're not ready because of your teeth, don't be sad, work on it. Consult a dentist if that will help you feel more ready and comfortable.

PS: Sorry for the late response though.

Hi Thea, it's not an issue if you're a smoker. Just take care of your health though. Re the grades for contact lenses, it depends on the standard that the airline is following.

Hi! yes, recruiters do check the legs, face, etc. If you can, try concealing the varicose with leg make-up. Pa-check up mo rin sis ang varicose mo to be sure na hindi siya magiging malala in case you got in kasi sa job ng crew bihira yung chance na makaupo ka.

Joanne Camet on 10:10 PM said...

Hi Anonymous, It's been a few years since I attendend the impact interview. I'm not sure kung may nagbago na but as per my experience, you will be called one by one. Each one has to speak in front for 2 minutes. You have to introduce yourself and say what you want. After that, you will be asked to come closely to the recruiters. They will check your arms, face, etc.

Once all of you is done, you will know right away if you passed or not.

-------
Hi Lisa, as long as hindi naman major problem. Wala naman akong nadinig na naging problema yung ngipin na may pasta.

thank you po.

Joanne Camet on 4:58 PM said...

Hi All, Sorry for my late response. Kindly see all my comments below:

1.False Teeth: I am not sure of PAL's standards regarding this. This might be discussed siguro during the medicals.

2. Application form for PAL - kindly check if they still have the downloadable form in their website :)

3. Insect Bites - Sorry to hear that but I cannot assure if this the only reason kung bakit sila nadidiscourage. Insect bites are just temporary. Regarding sa may pinabasa sayo and sa iba, I don't know how they gauge people kung sino ang pababasahin nila at sino ang hindi or if this a sign na mas may chance ka over the other. My take on this is that ituloy mo lang ang pag-aapply may insect bite man or wala. Just be confident, be calm and natural during your interview. Don't be discouraged :)

4.Re PAL and PAL Express, from what I know, sister companies sila. I am not sure now if iisang HR lang ang naghhire sa mga crews since the changes that happened in the companies pero better if you clarify it with PAL Express, call them para di naman din masayang yung chance in case they open for the cabin crew position :)

5.RE Keloid: Just try. We don't know how considerate they can be. Hindi naman perfect lahat ng crews, lahat may kanya kanyang imperfections and may kanya kanya ring take ang mga recruiters sa pagpili. Surely they will still look on a person's total package :)

6.Hi Sheena, from what I know hindi naman tinitimbang during the screening. They will check on the height lang and not the weight. Just try :)

Hi Pretty, as far as I know, they don't but who knows? If they really like you, they might ask you when it's possible for you to remove your braces and push through with your application

Joanne Camet on 11:48 PM said...

Hello, I think contact lenses will not be a problem even if they do find out as long as your vision's grade is within their medical standard.

Hi! It used to be on PAL's website. Try checking it on the career's page :)

Joanne Camet on 11:59 PM said...

Hi! I think you have to send them the application thru online :)

Hi Bianca, lahat may chance and lahat may chance to improve :) If you think hindi ka magaling sa english for sure in the long run and while nasa school ka ay maiimprove mo pa yan. DL is not necessary para makapag abroad. Plus points pero hindi requirement.

Pasta is okay :)

Hi! If we will base it on the requirements posted on the website they say Single :( You can still try though.

hi miss joanne! Do airlines have age limit? Particularly cebpac and pal? Im turnig 26 this october, im currently working in a pharma comoany but dreaming to be fa, do you think my current work is also an advantage? Thank you so much :) -alexeen

Hi do cebpac and pal have age limit? Im turning 26 this oct.

Joanne Camet on 3:01 AM said...

Hi Lyn, it is not visible during your application (since the stretchmarks are in your stomach) , hence, will not be your problem. There are airlines that accept married applicants as well

Joanne Camet on 3:08 AM said...

Hi Alexeen, for Cebu Pac I think age limit is until 25 and Pal is up until 27 yrs old. The job of a cabin crew does not necessarily need a previous work experience. Personally, whatever work industry you're coming from, as long as you know you can do the job 100%, you stand the chance.

Hi Miss Joanne. I'm a graduating student this school year and I'm looking forward to become a flight attendant. May I ask you if they will require me a Certificate of Employment about my past job experiences? I worked in 2 restaurants but I don't have Certificate of Employments. And should I have to put braces even the problem in my teeth mainly when I smile is not really visible? I also have keloid in my arms, are they strict from that? Thank you for sparing some time.

Hi, I am planning to apply on airline as an FA, But I have a scar in my arm and 4 keloids that are really visible, do you have any idea how to conceal it? And will they accept me despite of my keloids?

Hi, I have a very big birthmark that is covering almost all of my half left body. This is very noticeable in my left leg. So im not wearing skirts nor shorts. Do you think it would be good for me to apply for this position? :(

Joanne Camet on 3:35 AM said...

RE: KUWAIT AIRWAYS

Hello, I think gamca is not about the scars on legs but more on the physical well being of an applicant. If you're concern is the dark scars, it's probably within company's discretion and standards and not GAMCA's. Just a hypothesis though.

@ANONYMOUS RE TATTOO
As far as I know, tattoo is not allowed but if it's covered naman, it will depend on the company's standard.

@RAI PAINO
Hello, if you just came out from school, COE is not a must. Have you worked in the restaurants full or part time?

Braces are not allowed on applications though. :(

Re keloids, probably the same thing you do if you are about to conceal a pimple. You can also watch video tutorials on youtube on how to conceal them.

RE:PAL INFO SHEET

It's in their website.I believe they also have instructions on how to do it.

@ANONYMOUS RE BIRTHMARK
You can try concealing if you want. There are leg make-ups available in malls. I recommend Sally Hansen. It's a bit pricey but it's easy to use and really does its job.

Hi! Im just wondering if Qatar airways accepts Single moms? Kasi I just did the final interview with them kaya lang I'm worried baka Hindi na ako tawagan kasi dineclare ko na may kid na ako. Thanks in advanced

Joanne Camet on 1:56 PM said...

@Anonymous RE CC Openings

Hello, I heard PAL is continuously hiring for the Cabin Crew position :)

@Anonymous RE Qatar Airways

Hello, I am not sure of this because they did not specify it as well in their qualifications. Pero it's good that you declare better than hiding it. Don't worry, hopefully it will not be taken against your application.
